Welcome to today’s Trump Tyranny Tracker…
The Supreme Court blocked Trump’s attempt to change election rules weeks before the midterms, federal investigations into individual voters are expanding, and new reporting exposed the Trump family’s financial ties to a Kremlin crony.
Election Interference — The Supreme Court blocked Trump’s attempt to impose new restrictions on mail voting just weeks before the midterms.
Weaponization — DHS officers were reportedly told to pose as voters while investigating individual Americans using unreliable government data.
Corruption — Umar Kremlev, whose longtime partner heads Putin’s security detail, secretly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars toward Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding celebrations.
What Happened: The Supreme Court blocked Trump’s plan to impose new Postal Service requirements on mail ballots just weeks before the midterms. The rules would have required specialized barcodes and voter information to be submitted to USPS. Justice Brett Kavanaugh said making the changes this close to the election would be “arbitrary and capricious.”
Why It Matters: This was another attempt by Trump to seize more federal control over elections. At least the Supreme Court stopped him from changing how mail ballots are handled weeks before the midterms.

What Happened: Umar Kremlev paid hundreds of thousands of dollars toward Donald Trump Jr.’s three-day wedding celebration in the Bahamas, including renting a private island and paying for fireworks. Trump Jr. and his wife confirmed Kremlev hosted two nights of celebrations, calling it an “extraordinarily generous wedding gift” from a friend.
Why It Matters: Kremlev’s rise is tied directly to Putin’s security apparatus, including the head of Putin’s personal security service. Someone with those connections secretly bankrolling the U.S. president’s son’s wedding should set off every counterintelligence alarm.

What Happened: Despite the Supreme Court blocking Trump’s mail ballot plan, his regime is continuing a broader push into elections. DOJ has sued states for private voter data, federal agents are searching voter rolls for noncitizens, and the regime has pursued changes involving voting machines, citizenship checks and federal funding tied to state election policies.
Why It Matters: Trump has said he wants to “take over” and nationalize elections. His regime is now using multiple federal agencies to push into elections, even as courts block parts of that effort.

What Happened: A federal whistleblower says DHS ordered immigration officers to pose as voters to access state voter databases as part of its “Unlawful Voter Initiative.” Officers received less than two hours of training and were told to investigate 40 people a day using DHS data the whistleblower says is unreliable. The process could wrongly flag U.S. citizens as unlawful voters and may violate state laws.
Why It Matters: U.S. citizens could be wrongly flagged as illegal voters because of unreliable government data and a rushed federal investigation just weeks before the midterms. It is part of Trump’s broader effort to cause chaos before the midterms.

What Happened: Attorney General Todd Blanche said DOJ is investigating election practices in multiple states and has “hundreds” of investigations involving people it says were not eligible to vote. He also defended the regime’s blocked mail ballot restrictions, citing “common sense” when pressed for evidence that mail voting carries a greater risk of fraud.

What Happened: Accenture agreed to pay $25 million to settle DOJ allegations that it considered race and sex in hiring and promotions to meet diversity goals. Accenture denied discrimination, and the settlement does not constitute an admission of liability.

What Happened: A federal judge blocked a DHS rule that would have limited foreign students and exchange visitors to four years and foreign journalists to 240 days before forcing them to apply for extensions. The judge called DHS’s justification “exceptionally weak” and said the agency failed to meet its legal obligations when adopting the rule.

What Happened: Immigration lawyers say the government is withholding or heavily redacting records people need to prove their legal status or fight deportation. A former USCIS official said more than 35% of requests from immigrants facing deportation were closed without providing documents between September 2025 and March 2026.

What Happened: Pete Hegseth has purged or blocked the promotions of as many as 80 generals and admirals and restricted officers from attending several elite universities. Current and former military officials told the NYT the upheaval has fueled mistrust and left key leadership positions unfilled as the U.S. fights Iran and faces shortages of critical missile interceptors.
Why It Matters: The U.S. is fighting a war while key military positions sit empty and senior officers are becoming afraid to speak freely. That puts military readiness and decision making at risk.

What Happened: The EPA repealed federal limits on greenhouse gas emissions from coal and natural gas power plants. They proposed another rule aimed at preventing future administrations from regulating power plant climate pollution.

What Happened: Gulf talks with Iran over reopening the Strait of Hormuz were postponed at Saudi Arabia’s request as Iran-backed Houthis continued attacks on the Saudis. The fighting has also spread around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and damaged Saudi Arabia’s key pipeline.
Why It Matters: Two of the world’s most important shipping routes are now caught up in the fighting, along with infrastructure Saudi Arabia relies on to move oil when Hormuz is disrupted. That puts even more pressure on global energy supplies and prices.

What Happened: A Russian drone struck a passenger train near Ukraine’s border with Poland shortly after a diplomatic train carrying former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt and European security officials passed through. Former CIA Director David Petraeus was on a separate train still at the station when the drone struck.

What Happened: Oil prices jumped more than 4% after Houthi attacks on Saudi infrastructure and ships knocked a critical Saudi oil pipeline out of service for weeks. Brent crude reached $105.66 a barrel, while average U.S. gasoline climbed to $4.32 a gallon and diesel hit a record $6.23.

What Happened: Democratic state parties are recruiting 10,000 volunteers to monitor polling places, while activist groups are preparing protests and legal experts are advising judges how to respond if federal authorities seek to seize ballots or voting equipment. The preparations follow federal efforts to change election rules and concerns about armed immigration agents appearing at polling locations.

40 — People per day DHS officers were reportedly told to investigate as part of its voter initiative.
Less than 2 hours — Training those officers reportedly received before conducting the voter investigations.
$105.66 — Price of a barrel of Brent crude as Middle East fighting continues to disrupt energy supplies.

10,000 — Dem volunteers to monitor polling places
Trump’s push into elections is continuing — How much further will federal agencies go in trying to control voter data, mail ballots and other parts of the election system before the midterms?
The Pentagon is facing major upheaval during a war — How will empty leadership positions, officer purges and shortages of critical weapons affect military readiness?
The Middle East war is threatening global energy supplies — Will attacks around Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb and Saudi oil infrastructure drive oil and gas prices even higher?
Trump Jr.’s relationship with a Putin crony is under growing scrutiny — What else will emerge about Kremlev’s access to the Trump family and the relationship behind the hundreds of thousands of dollars he spent on the wedding celebrations?
Election Control — Trump’s regime is using multiple federal agencies to push deeper into elections, even as courts block parts of that effort.
Counterintelligence Failure — A Russian businessman tied to Putin’s security apparatus bankrolled Don Jr.’s wedding. Giving someone with those connections direct access to the Trump’s family creates obvious counterintelligence risks.
Pentagon Turmoil — The U.S. is fighting a war while senior military leaders are being removed, key positions remain empty and officers describe growing mistrust inside the Pentagon.
Rising Costs — Fighting around major shipping routes and Saudi oil infrastructure is pushing oil and fuel prices higher, with U.S. gasoline averaging $4.32 a gallon.
