On Saturday August 8th, the Senate voted to confirm Todd Blanche, Trump’s lawyer, to be the Attorney General of the United States. This is despite his championing of a corrupt slush fund for the president’s allies, and his hand in the DoJ’s decision to shield Trump from an audit on his taxes. This is unacceptable.
On top of that, Senator Cornyn embarrassed himself, claiming “There’s nothing we could do to rein in Trump.” You know this is false. We know this is false. Impeachment is the Constitutionally appropriate means to “rein in” and hold accountable a corrupt president. We’re going to remind our representatives, and Senator Cornyn himself, that we expect them to do their job.

Last week, the Senate voted to confirm Todd Blanche, Trump’s former lawyer, to be the Attorney General of the United States. They did this despite his previous championing of an overtly corrupt slush fund for President Trump’s allies, and with little more than a handshake agreement that the fund would not be revived in the future.
It should go without saying, that anyone who would for even a moment support such abuse of taxpayer funds for political favors is completely unsuitable to lead our great nation’s top lawyers. His position is one trusted with upholding the law, and extending this money to criminals while shielding the president from investigations is antithetical to the rule of law in the United States of America.
Despite all this, Senator Cornyn threw up his hands, saying “There’s nothing we could do to rein in Trump.” This is not true. The Constitution, and our founding fathers, established impeachment as the proper, lawful remedy to a tyrannical president who abuses his station.
I expect your boss, my representative, to begin impeachment proceedings under Rule IX. It is essential that we make it clear that this blatant theft from hard-working Americans is unacceptable, and that there is accountability for such actions.
I have copied Mr. Brandewie, Senator Cornyn’s Chief of Staff, on this email because it’s critical that the Senator clearly articulate the means by which the Constitution affords us the authority to hold the corrupt accountable.
